Bicycle Rescue for Youth is honored to receive a Healthy Communities and Parks Fund - Tier 1 grant from King County Parks. With this support, we will be able to continue providing bikes to low income youth in the south east King County area. Bicycle Rescue for Youth

We spent a few hours last Saturday supporting the Maple Valley Police bike rodeo held in conjunction with the Maple Valley Bike Challenge. There were over 200 entrants for the Challenge and many of the younger ones visited us to get their bikes adjusted so that they fit properly and are safe to ride. A big thank you to Covington Rotary for the grant. Covington Rotary has supported Bicycle Rescue for Youth for almost the entire time we have been around. This money will go a long way for parts and other necessities required to refurbish the bikes we donate to the youth in the Covington/Maple Valley area. We would like to thank REI for all the support for the last few years! They have donated financially and with products that we have been able to raise significant funds with. We have also received bike parts that go into refurbishing bikes. Beth, one of our volunteers from a ways back, works for REI and has done an excellent job in putting Bicycle Rescue for Youth together with REI to form a beneficial partnership to get more bicycles out to the kids. ...
