Good Morning, yesterday we spent the morning supporting the See Ya Later Foundation with their event gathering all the families they supported this year. The "See Ya Later" Foundation is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization in Oregon and Washington that began out of the inspiration of a 12-year-old boy who died of cancer. Scott Banke had a zest for life and a courage that motivates the mission of the Foundation: "Inspiring Youth - Encouraging Families". There was breakfast at Dave and Busters, a Santa and lot's of gifts and of course our bikes. We gave out 7 bikes bringing our total for the year to 105.Last night we had our annual holiday volunteer get together to thank our volunteers for their efforts over the last year. We had a good time and the volunteers got to meet our newer volunteers. It is thanks to these folks that we were able to donate over 100 bikes this year. They are a great bunch of folks and they love helping the kids.All in all a very busy day.Have a great day! ... See MoreSee Less

Last Saturday on the 2nd we had our Christmas donation event. It went really well. We gave out 15 bikes and a couple scooters. We had a lot of smiling kids and parents. Bicycle Rescue for Youth would like to give a huge thank you to Ironman for bringing their event to Maple Valley for the last three years. Many people don't know about the Ironman Foundation which provides grants to non-profits that volunteer for the event. In the last three years we have received enough in grants to be able to donate approximately 80 bikes to the under privileged youth of the Maple Valley/Covington area. During all of our travels around the area, we meet all sorts of people that are out there looking to help families and kids in need. One of our recent meets at the Maple Valley - Black Diamond Chamber of Commerce , was with Brad at Bicycle Rescue for Youth. Brad is a retired Boeing engineer that collects used and unwanted bikes and restores them or uses parts from them to make them into new bikes and provide them to a child or young adult who cannot afford a new bike. If you have a bike you would like to donate, please contact Brad or SYL and we will assist in getting bikes to Brad. This weekend we received three bikes that needed some love before they find their new home.
